The Stadium
The Oakland Athletics play Cactus League baseball at the eastern edge of Phoenix, about one mile from Tempe's Mill Avenue and about one mile from Scottsdale Road which leads to Old Town Scottsdale. The A's play at Phoenix Muni which is nestled in at a triangle formed by the three town's city limits. The stadium is older but well worth the visit - even if the Oakland A's aren't your primary baseball allegiance, be sure to attend when your team is playing there.
With a seating capacity of 8500 and dimensions down the left field line of 345', 410' in center and 345' down the right field line, Phoenix Muni is one of the most spacious facilities in Arizona. The facility is conveniently located within 20 minutes of downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. 5 other MLB teams have their spring training homes within an half-hour of Phoenix Municipal Stadium and the entire cactus league is within a 2 hour drive, making this an ideal place to enjoy spring training.
